How CostSlab handles your information, where our prices come from, and the disclosures that keep a cost site honest — all in one place.
CostSlab is an independent Houston cost-information service, not a contractor. We do not sell personal information; quote details are used only to connect you with local professionals for the project you described. Prices are estimates compiled from Angi Houston, HomeGuide and local contractor quotes, re-checked at least twice a year. Photos on this site are illustrative.
What the quote builder collects, how quote requests are used, cookies, and your choices about your information.
Read the privacy policy →Estimates are information only, CostSlab is not a contractor, and independent contractors are responsible for their own work.
Read the terms of use →Our method: published Houston pricing cross-checked against local contractor quotes, with ranges and per-square-foot math shown on every page.
Read the method →Photos are illustrative, partner arrangements are disclosed, and no contractor can pay to change a price in our guides.
Read the disclosures →Every number on CostSlab starts from published Houston pricing — principally Angi’s Houston cost guides and HomeGuide pricing data — and is cross-checked against quotes from Houston-area contractors before it appears in a guide. We publish ranges and per-square-foot rates rather than a single average, because a 400 sq ft driveway and a 1,000 sq ft driveway do not live at the same price, and a single “average cost” misleads both owners.
Suburb prices use a local index against the Houston baseline (1.00), built from the same sources plus suburb-level factors we can defend: soil conditions, HOA requirements in master-planned communities, typical lot sizes and local labor rates. The full index is on our prices by suburb page.
Data is re-checked at least twice a year, and every guide prints the date of its last verification. If you hold a recent written Houston quote that contradicts our ranges, we want to see it — corrections make the guides better for the next homeowner.
The photographs on CostSlab illustrate the type of finished work a guide describes — a stamped driveway, an epoxy flake floor, a stamped patio, a slab pour. They are not photographs of specific jobs priced on this site, and they are labelled illustrative in our footer and captions.
CostSlab signs one founding contractor partner for the Katy – Sugar Land – Richmond territory, disclosed openly on our For Contractors page. The partner pays a flat monthly fee for exclusive quote requests from that territory. The fee buys referrals only: it does not change any price, range or recommendation in our guides, and the partner is an independent business solely responsible for its licensing, insurance, pricing and workmanship.
Some outbound links on CostSlab may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never determine which products or prices we publish.
Found an error — a stale price, a wrong suburb figure, a broken link? Send it through the quote page with “correction” in your notes, or read more about CostSlab. Material corrections are applied to the guide and noted with a new verification date.
